My Favorite Career Tools
From working remotely abroad, to conference travel, to work from home tools, I am often asked about the tools and tech I use in order to stay on top of my career (and frankly, my life). Here is a non-exhaustive list of some of my favorites, as well as other tools I may not personally use but highly recommend depending on your work / productivity needs.
I feature many of the brands I recommend on my blog, either organically, through a partnership, or via an affiliate link. Affiliate links essentially mean that, if you make a purchase through a specific link on my blog, I earn a small commission for helping to make the sale, at no additional cost to you.

Remote Work Resources
FlexJobs
FlexJobs is a job listing resource that specializes in remote, work-from-home, and flexible jobs. It’s highly rated and one of the primary resources I recommend for anyone reading this blog in search of a remote job.
Nomads
Nomads (previously known as Nomad List) is a mega resource for nomad information, guidance, and resources tied to hundreds of cities around the world. They also offer meet-ups and community-building for location independent people.
Workfrom
Workfrom is an amazing community-built resource designed to help remote workers and nomads find places to work from, such as restaurants, coffee shops, and coworking spaces. It tells you important information such as what the WiFi is like, whether there are outlets, and if there are any amenities.
PRODUCTIVITY & CREATIVITY TOOLS
Monday.com
Monday.com is a project management system that I swear by. I use it to manage all of my content, deliverables, and projects for this website and its accompanying social media channels. It’s also how I manage my team. Whether you have a creative pursuit, or a side hustle, or an established business, Monday.com could be a game-changer for upleveling your organization and efficiency.
Trello
Trello is another project management tool that allows you to organize your ideas into different cards and columns, visualizing your workflow from beginning to end. You can easily collaborate and see who is working on what.
HOME OFFICE & REMOTE WORK TOOLS
Xebec Portable Travel Monitor
I’ve been eyeing this travel monitor for ages, and while I don’t own my own yet, I’ve heard raving reviews from other remote workers. This laptop screen extender allows you to expand your workspace no matter where you are, and this particular bundle comes with a laptop stand to help elevate your screens and keep your laptop cool.
Apple iPad
iPads aren’t just convenient tablets, they can be remote work game-changers as well. The keyboard attachment can esentially transform your iPad into your primary laptop while you’re on the go. Otherwise, the iPad can also function as a second montior to extend your workspace.
Sony Noise Canceling Headphones
Noise-cancelling headphones are an essential cornerstone for any home office or remote work setup, so make sure you invest in a quality pair! I love Sony for this, and I swear by the WH-1000XM4. The headphones fold in and come with a handy carrying case for extra convenience and easy storage, too.
Moft Tripod Phone Case
Moft creates origami-inspired work accessories that I am obsessed with. I use my phone Tripod Stand regularly to capture photos when traveling solo, take video calls, and watch movies more comfortably while in flight. In fact, it is probably my #1 most-asked-about accessory whenever I’m using it in public, because it’s just so sleek and useful! In addition to phone accessories, they also create cool laptop cases and stands as well.
ExpressVPN
ExpressVPN is a virtual private network (VPN) that encrypts your data and ensures a secure connection between your device and the websites you are visiting. It’s amazing for traveling but is equally helpful for general use whenever you connect to public or unsecure WiFi networks because it safeguards you from being hacked.VPNs also enable you to easily update your IP address so you can access websites from different locations. A quick heads up! VPNs are illegal or restricted in a handful of countries with strict internet laws, such as Russia, Iraq, Turkey, Egypt, and India.
Wise
Wise App comes in handy when you are traveling frequently and working remotely around the world. It’s the fastest way to send money, receive payment, and top off any local money wallets. Wise App was my lifeline in Kenya, a country that pays for everything using a mobile M-PESA system that you can easily add money to via Wise.
Krisp.AI
Krisp is a desktop app that can be a lifesaver if you work remotely from public or noisy places. It essentially works as a noise cancellation tool that filters out background noise from foreground noise, making it seem as if you’re dialing in from a quiet area. Of course, as with any technology, it isn’t perfect so I wouldn’t consider it capable of 100% noise erasure, but it will definitely help to minimize distractions for the people you’re calling.
LEARNING PLATFORMS & DOWNLOADS
Italki
Italki is the online language learning platform that I use to learn Spanish. It basically allows you to find teachers or tutors in a wide range of languages and dialects around the globe, and practice your conversational skills in a virtual setting.
CONFERENCES & MEETINGS
Moo Business Cards
Moo is my preferred place to print business cards because they feel more high-quality and premium. You can customize your business cards down to the texture of the paper, the shape of the edges, and the color of the sides!
