This is part three of a 3-part series on the current snapshot of women & work for Women’s History Month. What’s shifting in how women think about ambition, how we are taking matters into our own hands, and what companies need to do next in order for women to be empowered in the workplace from here on out.

In a time where major corporations are rolling back their flexibility and bringing people back to the office, women are still underpaid for equal work, and the programs that celebrate diversity in gender, background, and experience are being cut en masse, it’s more critical than ever we become aware of these trends and demand change.

Packing my life into suitcases to take a career break abroad required so much logistical planning, and it was honestly shocking just how much stuff I’d acquired over the years living in LA (even though we lived in a studio!). As I was paring down my wardrobe, I realized the things I was reaching for to bring with me were the more practical, timeless things that would work in any situation while I was on the road. My @unboundmerino staples are the foundation of so much of my traveling wardrobe for this reason.

Now that my life is in suitcases again, I’ve made it a personal quest to strike a better balance between high quality, timeless capsule pieces and the quirky finds I discover while traveling, and a roughly 2/3 to 1/3 ratio for that seems to work well for me mentally. There is a lot of emotional baggage attached to owning so much stuff, and it’s never more obvious than when you’re trying to drag it halfway across the globe 😅. My new goal is quality and feeling over quantity – and if it doesn’t meet these criteria when I’m shopping or packing, then it’s no longer making the cut.

This was a massive mental shift for me as a recovering wardrobe maximalist (AKA shopaholic). I’m a work in progress! 🙏🏽

Wouldn’t you? ✨

I am never more aware of my power and the space I take up than when I look back at the things I’ve done and experienced and lived and survived along the way. In this short video is a tiny slice of so many major emotions, so many monumental moments in the past 12 months (at least, the ones that made it to my camera roll).

Love, pride, fear, embarrassment, community, calm, joy, devastation, excitement, bliss. The euphoric highs and the debilitating lows.

To be a woman is, to me, to be able to feel the spaciousness of it all. To navigate the complexity of this life and still find time to laugh along the way.

For decades now, women have been told to work hard

For decades now, women have been told to work harder, be more visible, go above and beyond to be successful in their careers.

And like many millennial women, my 20s were dictated by the Lean In & Girl Boss philosophies of the hustle.

Last one out of the office, last one to turn off my green Slack bubble, eternally “reachable on my cell if you need me” (you’ve probably done that too)

But after 2020, I, like so many other women, started craving something different. More balance, more flexibility, less burnout, more room to explore other interests even if they didn’t have a traditional place on my resume (and when they didn’t, I made room).

And for a while, lots of workplaces supported this. But recently, many big companies have started pulling back. And it’s left lots of people feeling some type of way.

In 2025, ~500,000 women left the workplace in the US, and the 2025 Women in the Workplace Report cited a drop in ambition. Solutions were offered to get things “back on track.”

But what if that track is no longer the only way?

It seems like more than ever before, women are restarting, resetting, feeling jaded by the promises made about the hustle, and well, simply testing out alternative paths.

So let’s discuss what those paths look like together, shall we? This is part one of a three-part series for Women’s History Month. Follow along for more!

Last Bad Bunny in Sydney post from me, for now. But truthfully, my head is still spinning for a few reasons. This wasn’t just a concert.

It was proof that you don’t need to speak the same language (though I am learning!) to share joy.

That the global stage has space for art created entirely in your own accent and cultural lens, and truthfully, the US needs to keep up.

It was unity and acceptance and embracing multicultural joy in a way that reminded me of the best parts of humanity.

And also, on a personal level, it was kind of amazing to witness my husband’s latin culture celebrated in a sold-out stadium halfway across the globe, in the country my grandmother is from.

The first latin act to sell out a stadium in Australia’s history, and we will always be able to look back and say “we were there when…” ❤️
