Holiday Party Inspo: Why Wearing Emerald is an Event in Itself
To me, December feels like a marathon in so many ways. It’s chaotic. There are a dozen things happening at once, from last-minute work deadlines, to gift shopping, to impossible errands and holiday travel. And on top of all of that, trying to find time to get together with friends to celebrate the season can seem almost impossible. This year will be the first year in 4 years that I’ll be going home to Hawaii for the holidays, and it feels unreal to me even just to write that. 4 years??? Time passes by SO quickly, and December can especially feel like a blur. It’s precisely because of this that making time to spend with the important people in your life this time of year is crucial, no matter how hectic life may feel. No matter what you’ve got going on that’s taking the bulk of your time.
WEARING EMERALD FOR YOUR HOLIDAY PARTY:
We all know that holiday parties are the one surefire way to gather everyone together and get riled up about the holidays. And because moments like these are so special and so fleeting, I personally get so excited about making sure I’m dressing the part. This year, emerald green arrived out of nowhere, and quickly became the color I never knew I needed. As someone who has always been drawn to a good olive hue, emerald is just that, with a more eye-catching twist. It’s rich, it’s bright without being overpowering, and it’s undeniably sophisticated. Here is an easy holiday party outfit I put together, in the midst of this month’s chaos, featuring all things emerald and white, plus a little red lip because, well, I couldn’t resist.
I paired this emerald green and white maxi dress with white ankle boots and half-circle drop earrings. Because of the plunging neckline (maybe not safe for work, but the best dresses never are), using a smartly draped scarf can easily transition a formal look into one that’s more suitable for dinners and gatherings with friends.
Hopefully this holiday party outfit sparks some inspiration in you, and reminded you that it’s MORE than okay to make sure you’re having a little fun this season, especially if you’ve been working ‘round the clock. I almost didn’t share a holiday look this year because of how crazy busy this December has been, but I had to snap myself out of it. No matter how fast-paced your month may be, make sure to take the time to enjoy all of the traditions and events that make this season what it is. When you look back on this year, you’ll remember the fun party, the emerald dress, and the moments shared with friends – not the email you forgot to send or the errand you needed to run, after all. Cheers to that!
