I had a blast on my first trip to Tennessee (surel I had a blast on my first trip to Tennessee (surely not my last!)

Have you been to Tennessee before?

The past two weeks were spent working remotely from airbnbs, coffee shops, bowling alleys, and breweries, with tonnnnsss of live music and sightseeing along the way. I knew Nashville was the music city, but I had no idea just how lively (and how good!) the music scene in both Nashville and Memphis would be.

📍 @bobbyhotel rooftop in Nashville (yes, that is a real bus on a rooftop, and it is a real legend in the Music City - definitely a sight to see while you're in town!) #OffDutyinTennessee

Next stop, road tripping to Missouri for WITS! ✈️
I’m floating on cloud 9 after a whirlwind weeken I’m floating on cloud 9 after a whirlwind weekend at @travel_con in @memphistravel !

Conferences are finally back IRL, and if you have ever felt “stuck” in your career or your life, I cannot swear by in-person networking enough. They’ve helped me:

• Hone my craft as a blogger, salesperson, and content creator
• Practice my pitch
• Get better at asking questions
• Feel comfortable and confident in front of crowds
• See others like ME doing the things I want to do, proving that with a little grit, anything is possible

That last bullet is so, so crucial. May is all about Mental Health Awareness AND AAPI Awareness Months, and as someone who has both struggled with mental illness and the way I present my identity to the world, I can’t stress enough how helpful it is to connect with others like you, doing the same things you’re doing, trying to conquer the same mountains.

Some of my favorite moments from Travel Con were dancing with my fellow Filipino creators on the last night of the event, and chatting with so many inspiring women who have built amazing established businesses and personal brands.

Not only did I leave feeling pumped about what I do, I left being reminded that I am not alone.

Community is crucial, sharing your stories with others is more impactful than you know, especially in the ultra - virtual world we’re all now living in!

I am trying harder to silence the thoughts telling I am trying harder to silence the thoughts telling me I'm floating in the in-between.

You know the thoughts. The ones that tell you that tomorrow will be better, that your future is what you're living for. Or worse, that yesterday was better, that you had no idea how good you had it "way back when."

I love being in the ocean, being on a trail, being anywhere outdoors because for a fleeting, transitory moment, my mind goes quiet.

Neither here nor there, just floating. Just observing.

What are some of your favorite ways to be present? Is it getting outside? Yoga? Good conversation with friends or strangers? Do you find it easier to connect in the present moment when you’re in familiar or unfamiliar places?

Fortunately, me and my new friend Ray got a good amount of float time together in Belize 😌 Do you see him below me in this photo? 👀 swipe for more, including the moment I swam with a manatee which will forever be a core memory for me!

This was one of my favorite days because it represented true spontaneity (something so rare for me these days). I randomly started chatting with a guy at The Lazy Lizard (a hotspot in Caye Caulker. If you’ve been, you know what I’m talking about!), and 2 days later we were out on his boat bright and early in the morning, swimming with sting rays, nurse sharks, and manatees! Highly recommend hitting up my new friend @natnice7081 for a snorkel trip if you find yourself in Caye Caulker! #OffDutyinBelize
For a tiny country, it's un-Belize-able how much b For a tiny country, it's un-Belize-able how much beauty I found in Belize!

In just one day, we went from snorkeling with manatees and nurse sharks in the Belize Barrier Reef to climbing waterfalls here in the protected Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve.

Wild fact that I learned - the Belize Barrier Reef was on UNESCO's in-danger list for nearly a decade. In 2018, after a surge of safeguarding measures implemented by the country, the reef was REMOVED from the list.

It's an inspiring example - where we put our attention is truly the only limit of how far our collective action can take us.

I will never not be in awe of this beautiful planet we call home, and the lessons it teaches me everywhere I go. Happy #earthday!

I'll share some recaps of the week @jacobsmedium and I spent in Belize this weekend on Stories! #OffDutyinBelize
If I waited for perfect timing, I wouldn't go anyw If I waited for perfect timing, I wouldn't go anywhere.

I would still be that girl in my first job out of college, unsure what I actually wanted to do with my life but coasting 'safely' between the clock-ins and clock-outs.

If I waited for the perfect timing, I wouldn't travel anywhere.

I would get caught up in worrying about what I'd miss, what other people's lives and events to center my life on rather than prioritizing my own.

If I waited for the perfect timing, I wouldn't say yes to things that terrify me.

I would let imposter syndrome take over, paralyzing me from trying to tackle the very thing that could help me grow most.

Real talk, I cry on a REGULAR basis because of all the things I've said yes to that scare the crap out of me 😅😩 But I grow through it. And the satisfaction that you get after growing through it? It's one of the sweetest feelings there is.

There is no right timing. There is no perfect scenario. There is no ready. The timing only becomes 'right' when you say yes. That's it. The permission is the way.

When I look at these photos I'm reminded of the day I spontaneously said yes to trying scuba diving (which TERRIFIES me). Coincidentally, this ended up being one of my favorite days in my entire month spent in Belize! The things that scare us the most are often where we discover the defining moments of our lives. Don't sleep on them! #OffDutyinBelize
[GIVEAWAY] From Belize to KC! Want to join me at t [GIVEAWAY] From Belize to KC! Want to join me at the Women in Travel Summit next month?

I am giving away a creator ticket (valued at $399) to one lucky winner!

Story time – WITS was one of the first travel blogging conferences I ever attended, and despite my nerves and uncertainty at the start, I walked away from those three days feeling so empowered. I was not very far into my blogging career at ALL, but I knew I wanted to make an impact. I volunteered, I met a bunch of brands and people, and I even hosted my own happy hour for fellow bloggers balancing full-time careers. 🤩

What I love about that is, even though it was my first time attending WITS, it didn't feel like it. I got to carve my own path, approach anyone I wanted to, and even host my own mini event.

WITS is without a doubt one of the most supportive and inclusive travel conferences there is.

By attending, you can expect:
• TONS of amazing sessions and workshops
• Direct access to brands, tourism boards, journalists, and PRs (I landed many of my very first collaborations simply by meeting face-to-face)
• 1:1 mentorship opportunities, including the opportunity to book 1:1 time with me!
• Hosted (FREE!) activities and tours in Kansas City, MO

👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽 TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY:
1. COMMENT on this post and tell me why WITS would be a game-changer for you!
2. TAG a friend, colleague, or blogger you know that might benefit from this (so they can enter, too!)
3. BONUS points if you share this post in your Stories & tag me!

Must be following me to win! I will announce the winner first thing next week! (Turn on post notifications so you don't miss it!) See you IRL in Kansas City! #WITSKC #HowWeDoKC
